Temporary tattoos are such an easy way to switch up your look — but nothing is more disappointing than watching them fade after one shower. With the right prep and a little daily care, your NOTTATTOO pieces can stay vibrant for up to 8 days. Here is exactly how.
1. Prep your skin before applying
The number one reason tattoos peel early is oily or dusty skin. Clean the area thoroughly with soap and water, then pat it completely dry. Skip lotion, body oil or sunscreen on the spot before you apply — any residue will weaken the adhesive.
2. Apply on a low‑friction area
Where you place your tattoo matters. Areas like the inner arm, collarbone and thigh experience less rubbing and will naturally last longer. Avoid spots that constantly rub against clothing, bag straps or shoes if you want maximum wear‑time.
3. Wait before getting wet
Give the adhesive time to set. Wait at least 1–2 hours after application before showering, swimming or working out. This small window makes a huge difference in how well the tattoo bonds to your skin.
4. Be gentle in the shower
Your tattoo is water‑resistant, but hot water and harsh scrubbing are its enemies. Rinse gently with lukewarm water and avoid rubbing the area directly with a washcloth, loofah or strong body wash. Pat dry instead of rubbing.
5. Moisturise around it (not on it)
Keeping the surrounding skin healthy helps the tattoo stay put. Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturiser around the edges, but avoid putting thick creams directly on the design itself.
6. Remove gently when you are ready
When it is time to take it off, do not pick at it. Soak the area in warm water for 3–5 minutes, then gently rub with baby oil or an oil‑based makeup remover. It will lift off smoothly without irritating your skin.
With these simple steps, your temporary body art can stay fresh, sparkly and photo‑ready all week long.
